Im thinking this parameter may just be baked into the code but I am wondering if there is any way to make the copter execute a sharper corner while flying manually in loiter mode.
Please see the diagram for better clarification. The situation is I am flying straight forward with a given pitch input at 10m/s. If I quickly yaw the copter 90 degrees (while still pitching forward) the aircraft will “drift” while it corners. While I understand this is important and gives a nice natural feel I’d really like to be able to make the make the craft corner sharper towards the desired trajectory. Any idea if this is possible to adjust?
As you may have already discovered there is only one Loiter specific parameter that might help. LOIT_ACC_MAX. But I’m doubtfull this will improve that situation. Try doubling it and see what happens. You could also try increasing ATC_SLEW_YAW.
Hi Dave,
I have tried both parameters without success. It would make perfect sense LOIT_ACC_MAX would directly effect this, but for some reason I seem to be having issues with this parameter. It doesn’t seem to do anything (see the thread I just started: Slow acceleration in Loiter mode (flying manually) ). I can set it really high and copter doesn’t accelerate any faster (Note: the aircraft is not reaching it’s max angle and there is still lots of reserve power).
ATC_SLEW_YAW - This doesn’t seem to have an effect. I read somewhere that this only affect Auto missions.
