Setting my drone up

I have no experience with drones at all but i am making a drone for a school project and i have done everything but finish the stuff on qgroundcontrol i have set up the frame, radio, flight modes, sensors but every few seconds the thing starts saying pre arm: battery 1 unhealthy or stuff like that i’ve tried so many things but nothing fixes it can someone please help. the flight controller i’m using is the 6c mini

Use ArduPilot methodic configurator software and start from scratch.

It will guide through the correct sequence of steps, to avoid the warnings and errors you are seeing.

When you do the configuration in an incorrect sequence it’s normal to get such warnings.

the error you are experiencing is probably because of unconfigured/wrongly configured battery monitor.

Also why use qgroundcontrol? I find mission planner much better for ardupilot

how do i select it on qgroundcontrol i haven’t seen it as an option

someone told me to use qgroundcontrol because it was the easiest and best one so i didnt look for alternatives

To be honest, for general usage, QGC has become a lot better now with the addition of a log analyzer with yesterday’s daily. Also things like reverting a parameter to default. Mission Planner doesn’t fully work on Linux.
But for advanced mission planning, Mission Planner is probably still better as it has certain advanced features, although not intuitive.

The AMC software single-purpose is correctly configuring ArduPilot vehicles with as little iterations as possible.

Use it first. Once the vehicle is correctly configured, choose a ground control station software.

Doing it the other way around makes little sense.

You don’t, you go here: Methodic Configurator

Forget about QGroundControl until the craft is configured and final tuned. Then if you want to use it as a Ground Station go ahead.

everybody has different opinions but I personally find MP more direct and user friendly as stuff is not like randomly hidden around in some places.

It can be overwhelming in the beginning since there’s so many steps and things to do and think about.

The first thing I would do in your situation is to read through the entire wiki regarding setup for multirotots/drones. It will help you understand everything in the configurator. It’s a lot, and takes time, but a wrongly setup aircraft is dangerous and can get quite expensive as it hits the ground…

Once you’ve read the wiki, use the methodic configurator. It’ll make sure you don’t miss any steps in the process which is super important.

Many new pilots go straight to flying without doing the work needed in preparation. Make sure you don’t rush the process.

That’s at least how I would do it.
