I am struggling to figure out how to use my radio channel 7 to actuate a dropper unit I have plugged into the 8th slot of the unit (I forgot what its called) where my motors are plugged into my Holybro 6c FC. Servo 8 function is set to 28 (gripper), RC7_OPTION is set to 19 (Gripper Release), GRIP_ENABLE = 1, my min is 983 and max is 2006. My parameters are attached. Any help is greatly appreciated, happy thanksgiving to everyone!

Try using FMU output 1 instead and configure Servo 9 function for gripper.
I apologize. Can you explain to me what FMU output 1 is and where to find it? There are so many acronyms I cant keep em straight. Here is my servo setup.
You have the motors connected to the I/O PWM Outputs. Beside that is another connector FMU PWM Outputs. Put the servo on pin 1 of the FMU PWM Output. Where it gets confusing is that the number keeps going. The I/O PWM are pins 1-8 (SERVO1 to SERVO8). The FMU pins are labeled on the FC also as 1-8, but Ardupilot calls them SERVO9 to SERVO16.
Ok, I have RC7 to gripper, Servo 9 function to 28 (gripper), grip enabled. Did I do this correct?

How are you powering the servo?
It should be being powered by the PWM I have pictured above. Brown (ground), Red(power) and Yellow(signal)
Are you applying 5V power to the rail. It is not powered by the autopilot automatically.
Is that a setting change? Or physically need to power it somehow
Not a setting. You need to get a 5V regulator that is powered off of your battery and then plug it into the servo rail so that it is powered by your regulator.
Ok I follow. Could I use an empty connection on my FC for power? I have a kit with all the plug types. Seems like the ones that are plugged in, power is always on the far right pin. Or is that a bad idea? I wish I had bought that FC in your picture. I have. Holybro 6c which doesn’t have built in PWM, it has two separate units.
Just power the servo directly and use the signal pins from the Flight Controller only.
