Seeking Recommendations for Commercial Drone Droppers

Hey everyone,

I am working on a multi-drone hive project, and we are looking to mount package drop systems on our drones. Since our project involves a wide variety of drones (about 10 different types), we need dropper systems that are as universal as possible within each weight class.

Our fleet consists of:

  • Medium-weight class (up to 3kg payload):
    • DJI (specific model not mentioned)
    • Custom drone (ArduCopter-based)
    • Custom drone (PX4-based)
  • Lightweight class (up to 1kg payload):
    • Autel Evo Max
    • DJI Mavic 3 Pro
    • Custom drone
  • Heavyweight class (6kg+ payload):
    • DJI AGRAS
    • Custom drone (Pixhawk Orange, ArduCopter-based)
  • Racer class:
    • DJI Avata
    • Custom 7-inch racer (ARK FPV hardware, PX4-based)

We are looking for commercially available droppers from official companies—not from AliExpress, eBay, or similar platforms—due to funding restrictions. However, international suppliers are fine as long as they comply with NDAA regulations.

If anyone has recommendations for reliable companies that manufacture high-quality droppers, we would really appreciate your input!

Do your payloads include highly energetic materials?
Marvin Engineering seems to have experience with droppers and definitely will be NDAA compliant :laughing:

LOL thanks! it might be a bit too heavy but unironically we could maybe fit it on our modified Agras

that’s really cool but I’m looking for something available through a company maybe a defense oriented one so we could have partners in the integration

What are intended to drop as most of those drones can carry mostly nothing and most closed source hardware such as dji aren’t suited nor able to receive external payload and works from hive…

yea we are intending to drop a very small like 10 -20 grams sensor box(will have heavier weight based on the drone) to calculate trajectories of objects that are flung from drones, practically show the real world results of theoretical calculations also im looking for different types of droppers that don’t have to integrate into the drone control but also be remote control through separate RF line.
