Review CubeOrange 21'' crash log

Hardware

FC : Cube Orange

Configuration: Quad

Prop size : 21”

This same bird has been flow for more than 30+ hours without any issues. Since last flight no any change has been made, but still on takeoff it crashed. Requesting help for log review.

Upon take off motors saturated leaving no control authority.

There’s a big split the outputs of opposing motors. This usually happens because of a twist in an airframe, or perhaps something wrong with a propeller. Perhaps a prop came loose, or if there’s folding arms there’s an issue there. I’d focus on motor 1&2.

Thank you @allister

Primary Observations:

Pre flight check were cleared.

Physical inspection don’t say anything about wrong propellers or motor direction, they were confirmed before liftoff. Propellers of same dia and pitch were used. No folding arms are being used.

Attaching Video of same flight for reference. It shows vehicle lifted in air and toppled few seconds. From video it is also visible that Motor Number 1 didn’t rotated in sync to remaining 3 motors.

So how can I take this ahead, was it a structural failure or something else? Feeling stuck between this thing.

Adding few more observations

ESC is placed inside the arm at exact point were arm broke. No any mounting plate is given which links ESC to arm directly, ESC is freely hanging inside arm and is isolated with Shrink sleeves and has a cut for MOSFETs.

Attached images of bird after crash for reference.

What ESC’s are they? They are getting pretty warm in those tubes if the temp data is believable.

ESC failure is possible. @dkemxr ‘s point about the temperature is a good one.

@dkemxr @Allister Thank you for your support.

Found root cause.

On field frame type was changed from V Quad to V Tail. So do FC Commanded to motors and with in seconds bird flipped.

Although, we have tested ESCs and Motors they are working good, without any deviations. Frame is good, no twisting or cracks were observed initially before flight. though will consider all this points for standardization of bird.

Thank You
