Is there a way to control an Arducopter directly through a telemetry module ? (without an RC receiver onboard)

You can connect a usb joystick or game pad to a computer running mission planner and use it to control the vehicle.

Other ground control software isn’t supported ?

And QGroundControl. Note that you will need an RC system to configure, calibrate and Tune the craft first.
