I was trying to use a TFmini lidar rangefinder to measure de distance between the drone and the water on a lake, I thought it could work, but is not very reliable.
I was wonder if any one can recommend me a rangefinder that works in this conditions.

I’m pretty sure ultrasound rangefinders work well when used above water. The YouTube channel rctestflight has several ground effect vehicles which used an ultrasound rangefinder.
I believe ultrasound rangefinders work best when the water is smooth. The conditions seen in the photo you posted look ideal for ultrasound rangefinders. I’m not sure what sort of distance limitation these sensors have. I’ve only used ultrasound sensors at relatively short range (less than 10 meters).
I’ve used the radar altimeter from SPH (on a DJI drone) for bathymetry. I think over water radar will give you the best performance.
