Radio Calibration trouble

I have an APM 2.6, a Spektrum DX7s transmitter, and an AR8000 receiver. When I tried calibrating my radio, the green bars didn’t show or move, and there were no red lines. I also got “Bad Channel 1 Input.” So then I tested the radio by putting a servo motor in each of the ports and testing the controls. The servo worked every time. Then I tried again, but the APM still didn’t show any green bars or red lines. Therefore I figured it had to be the APM. I used single jumper wires to connect the signal ports, and I also used servo leads to connect the power and the signal. I also tried using a separate battery for the receiver. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Will

@willm525,
Are you sure that you have the connections from the receiver to the APM connected correctly?
In other words, the PWM signal from the receiver is going to the APM PWM receiver input, the power (+) connection to the receiver is going to the APM receiver input center pin, and the ground connection to the receiver is going to the APM receiver input ground (-) connector.
Does the receiver led come on when the receiver is connected to the APM and the APM is powered up? If not you may have the connections between the receiver and the APM wired upside down.

The receiver led comes on every time that it is connected to the transmitter. I also researched where the power, ground, and signal pins were on the APM and the receiver.
