Hello!
I am a student in engineering school working on a project and I had a few questions regarding ardupilot. To give some context we are building a boat with the purpose of water monitoring to collect samples such as salinity levels and what not.
After doing some research through the ardupilot documentation, and from my limited understanding, is all we mainly need is a flight controller such a Pixhawk, and the mission planner software to control the boat? Our goal is for the boat to be autonomous to an extent where we can have it collect samples in a designated waypoint mission or confined in a fence, which seems doable from what the mission planner can do. Obviously, we would need other items such as a gps or a tranciever, but my main question is if the ardupilot system can do what we want, which is what I outlined to an extent earlier.
