The docs for AUTOTUNE_LEVEL say “Levels above 8 should only be used by very experienced pilots.”
But at the same time level 11 (the max) corresponds to 300 degrees/sec, which doesn’t actually seem insane when something like my FT Arrow rolls faster than that (at high speed, at least).
Is this a side effect of the fact that ArduPlane is normally used on physically larger aircraft that don’t get flung around with quite the same abandon?
I’m building an FT explorer that will run ArduPlane. Should I start with and AUTOTUNE_LEVEL of 6 and fly it like that for a while, or fly it manually and see what rates are achieved and set AUTOTUNE_LEVEL to correspond to those rates?
