Quadcopter Crash During Tuning Flight

I am developing a Quadcopter of all up weight 5 kg, . In LOITER mode, the UAV was stable during position hold. During a right-roll maneuver followed by braking, the UAV became unstable. I switched to STABILIZE mode and attempted to increase altitude for recovery, but the UAV rapidly climbed to approximately 80 m AGL. then attempted to regain control and land. During the final approach at approximately 5 m AGL, the UAV entered bushes and crashed.

Motor - T Motor Antigravity - 5008 - 340kv

Battery - 6S 16Ah tattu battery
AUW - 5 Kg
Flight Controller - Cube orange plus with dampeners

I did what you should have done:

  1. Run AMC software and import the .bin file
  2. Entered the component data you posted above in AMC
  3. Told AMC to analyze the .log file.

These are the results:

Why are you not using BDshot ESC RPM telemetry???

Those Cube orange plus dampeners are causing problems:

Futhermore:

  1. Why are you running ArduCopter 4.6.2 and not ArduCopter 4.6.3 ?
  2. on step 20 the ESCs are very poorly configured
  3. on step 22 your logging is very wrong, too much for a proper notch filter tuning
  4. Step 24 was not executed yet, your altitude controller is way off!
  5. On step 25 you did not tuned the notch filter yet.

Here are the generated, and partially corrected AMC files:

2026-09-09_15-04-58_crash_20260911_181245UTC.zip (46.3 KB)

Now connect the FC to the PC, start AMC, open the project directory I sent you, and start fixing your vehicle, one step at a time.

Thanks to @OmkarSarkar204 for his GSOC project!

I’m using FLAME ESC 40Amps

Will do what you said and update you

I’m using FLAME ESC 40Amps

Enter that missing data in component editor or in the ESC telemetry step.

I think the log analysis text is good as is, but it doesn’t provide anything beyond a maximum over the log for each, most of the actual high vibe intervals are in two ~5s second intervals rather than throughout before a final accident, all three look like LOC, with the last one having no recovery and tumbled out of sky. All of the vibe clip events were at the impact which gives the maximums.
