QUAD Copter configuration for safe landing with only 3 engines running

Hello there,
I would like to know if it is possiable to write custom CLI or tune some how in config parameters, so when one motor is out during the flight, it still continues to fly with 3 motors for safety landing or for RTL. this kind of action is possiable bcause DJI matrice 350 rtk has it.

No, that is not possible. Can you post a video of a DJI matrice 350 RTK doing it?

I’ve always wondered if this is possible if the payload was under the max lift weight of 2/4 motors and the motors were reversable so if one motor went out 2 motors could supply lift and the third motor opposite the dead one could throttle up/reverse to control roll and maintain level flight.
Is this not possible in theory? In practice I have no clue.

It’s not real ‘continues to fly’ but at least it’s not a crash.

The problem that it’s not possible to stop movement in yaw when it started if using only 2 propellers. But from the other side stabilization is possible by yaw rotation only.

That is pretty awesome.

That is the goal to not crash and land as safely as possible.
