PX4Flow and APM

Hi,

I need to hold position with very accuracy indoor with a quadcopter (Erle-Copter from ErleRobotics)

APM has support to PX4FLOW? Will this work like i’m expecting?

Thank you very much!

Hello,
Yes PX4Flow works fine with a well tuned and balanced quadcopter flying over a rich textured non reflective surface.
Take note that Optical Flow require a separate rangefinder (best is a laser type) in order to work with ArduPilot.

You need EKF2 or EKF3 in order to fuse the optical flow signal, so make sure these are within the parameters of your release (I know that Erle is lagging a little bit behind the ArduPilot Copter releases…)

Hi,

Thank you for you time, ppoirier!

So, if i install only the px4flow… the quadcopter will not hold his position? Px4flow already has a sonar, hm.

I’m totally newbie here! Sorry

The PX4Flow Sonar is not directly used at the present time, so in order to get the optical flow started you need a rangefinder signal active on the Flight Controller and this comes from a dedicated sensor.
