Proximity sensors for vertical avoidance

Has anybody worked on using a tilted 360 degree proximity sensor for vertical avoidance and/or rangefinding?

Do you mean scanning on the vertical plane?

I don’t think we support this kind of configuration natively.

Pretty much, Iike in some mapping applications but couldnt see it in Ardupilot. So wanted to ask if somebody was working on it or has worked on it

Isn’t there a parameter to define orientation? Maybe using some orientation out of them is a hacky way?

I dont think proximity sensors have orientation settings like rangefinders where you can have readings in the vertical plane. Proximity sensors have 1 or -1 for installing it up or down but the scan is horizontal still.
