Problems with Matek H743 and M10Q-5883

Hello,

I have flashed the ArduRover software version 4.5.6 on a Matek H-743-WING. After successfully connecting to the Mission Planner, I wanted to connect my GPS module to the FC. I have the Matek M10Q-5883, so I connected the module to 5V, GND and TX3,RX3. In the parameter list, I selected the baud rate 9600 for the Serial3 port and set the protocol to GPS.

Unfortunately I cannot establish a connection, I have already tried different ports and also changed to ublox protocol under GPS_Type. The status window only shows the message: EKF3 waiting for GPS config data.

I have already checked the connections several times, but I simply cannot receive a GPS signal. I have already read out the GPS module via an Arduino Uno and this worked perfectly.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why it just doesn’t work?

Thank you very much!

Hi Timon,

two common errors (among others) could cause the GPS not to be recognised:

  1. The TX/RX lines must be cross-connected. So TX of the GPS to RX of the FC.

  2. Unfortunately, the Mateksys naming of the serial interfaces does not match the serial numbering of Ardupilot: Serial 3 of Ardupilot corresponds to the TX2/RX2 pins of the board (Flight Controller H743-WING V2/V3 – Matek Systems)
