I’ve reinstalled MP several times, but no change. However I do have CCleaner installed on my PC and from time to time it reports that several drivers need updating. Up until now I’ve not allowed it to do this because I don’t know how to recover if it messes things up. Maybe I should let it do the job.
Did you a also first deinstall of MP before reinstall?
I am also not using CCleaner but my Antivirus SW has some similar features.
But all this only some thoughts no knowledge.
Yes, I uninstalled first. I haven’t tried cleaning up my PC yet though – that will have to be tomorrow.
Strange is, that on my old PC and laptop (both Win10) downloading logfiles works fine while on my brand new PC with WIn11 not. I guess it can be again something with permissions (so MP can’t create some temp file which needs…)
I noticed one more strange begaviour of MP on Win11:
If there pops-up some modal window (e.g. that you are not running the latest version of AP after connecting or the values aren’t min./max. checked after accessing all parameters list) it doesn’t pop-up to the top of the active window, but somewhere to the background (so it’s not visible, but still blocks controlling the main window.) If you don’t notice on the taskbar, that there is one more window opened, MP seems like “frozen” until you discover and confirm the “pop-down” window.
This is also happenning only on Win11, not on Win10.
Doesn’t lead this you to any new idea?
I also started having the same problem. Not sure if it was due to update of MP or after I started a new project with new FC… Sometimes it downloaded fine, but mostly it failed at 96…98% with the same reload phase… BUT I HAVE WINDOWS 10!
I’ve just cleaned out my computer – caches, memory, etc. – but the problem still persists; QGC can do the job, but MP can’t.
Here is how it looks like: video
Still no ideas how to solve it?
Did you update to latest Beta Mission Planner? When you do it should say build 1.3.9141.3125 on the top status bar (today).
I updated to the latest beta MP some way back when I first reported this problem. It downloaded logs okay but had a different issue – all the boxes at the bottom left of the first screen had red crosses through them and wouldn’t accept any of the parameters I tried to populate them with.
I’m away from my PC at the moment, so will try the latest beta (different number from the one I tried last time) when I get back.
Do it regularly. I check Beta updates a couple times a week.
I tested actual beta build 1.3.9141.3125 from January 2025 and it seems that it solved the problem!
I’ve been away for a couple of months, so have just got back to this problem. Today I went to “Check for BETA updates” in MP and, after quite a while hashing files (whatever that means) it briefly came up with a black screen headed “… updater.exe” which quickly disappeared and was replaced with the regular black installer screen for MP.
My MP version is now 1.3.82 build 1.3.9195.11771, so the updater has worked even though it didn’t offer me a chance to select which version I wanted, and it downloaded 4 selected files without any problems.
I just ran the Beta updater and it completed with 1.3.82 build 1.3.9195.11771 so it must be the latest.
Where does the “Beta updater” live? Would like to do the same…
Just click on “Check for beta updates” (or similar wording) in MP. Sorry, I can’t remember which tab it comes under.
My experience is that after the first successful download with build 1.3.9195.11771 it no longer wants to play ball. I had to go back to QGC last week to download my logs.
At the bottom of the Help Screen.
Thanks dkemxr, I was too lazy to boot up my laptop to check it
Still having issues: Yesterday I tried to download 2 logs using MP. The first one downloaded okay, but the second one failed. Went to QGC instead, but it wouldn’t connect to my heli
Today I tried QGC again, but it still won’t connect so I deleted it and installed the current version from scratch. But that still won’t connect. When I click on the Q symbol at the top left it gives me the ‘Select Tool’ menu, but when I then click on ‘Analyse Tools’ it gives me a message that I need to be connected.
So I went back to MP and it downloaded my second log quickly without any issues.
