Pixhawk, weird values for on board compass

I’m trying to calibrate my Pixhawk on board compass and keep getting weird values lik: 0,0,0; 0,1,0; and 1,0,0. When I check the Yaw (deg) on the Flight Data screen it appears to be off 45 degrees.

Hi bisenberger,

I had a similar issue and it seems to be related to compass mot and some bugs in 3.1.2.

Hi Thorston,
Have you ever been able to calibrate your on board compass with the external compass/gps unattached? If so what kind of numbers did you get for the offsets, and was the orientation correct on the Flight Data screen (Yaw (deg))?

Have you experienced these kinds of problems?

The orientation of the on board compass on the Pixhawk is off.

With the Pixhawk pointing North, Mission Planner shows the Yaw (deg) as 309.77.

These are the offsets after calibration.

Hi Bill,

not sure… I have not tried to calibrate the internal compass. But maybe I did by accident as the Pixhawk had problems connecting to the external one. And - if I remember correctly - it was about 45° off. But this was no systematic test.
I hope some fix for all these compass related problems will be available soon.

Hello
the problem I had, it could be on the MP, they go to MP 97, or 98, then it should be ok

Hi KA800,
I installed MP 1.2.98 and was able to calibrate the internal compass.
Thanks!
Bill
