Pixhawk loading ArduPlane HIL firmware error

Hi Everyone:
Did anyone try loading ArduPlane hardware in the loop firmware to Pixhawk?
I got the error as in the attached pic
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance.

Kind Regards
Yucong

Hi Yucong,

I’ve also been trying to get the HITL working but have hit this error too! Did you get any further?

I also found these posts from a couple of weeks back sugesting there isn’t HITL firmware available for ArduPlane yet…

Yes, we don’t have HIL for PX4/Pixhawk

Hi Yucong,

I got HIL working with the Pixhawk using the QGroundControl firmware. I followed this tutorial and got it running with X-Plane:

Hope this might be of some help

Can we expect HIL support for the pixhawk in the near future? I much prefer the APM firmware above the px4

What firmware did you use to get this going?

Thanks!

If I’m honest I don’t know which firmware QGroundControl uses, it downloads/installs it automatically. I did post (http://www.ardupilot.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=6222) asking which firmware it uses, but so far no one has ben able to answer…

Man, for the life of me I can’t get it to work. Did you flash the firmware with QGroundControl? I assume you picked PX4 as the platform?

I can get to the config page, but the Airframe Setup button is unclickable.

Hi there,

I just tried redoing the HIL this week and realised that the older firmware I used previously was working fine, but in the new stable release there is an issue with the radio connection timing out in the HIL mode. I worked out it was this firmware (201402181426-px4fmu-v2_default.px4) I used back in February to get the Pixhawk working with X-PLane 10:
http://px4.oznet.ch/px4/stable/bin/201402181426-px4fmu-v2_default.px4

I managed to get it working again using the above firmware and following the same tutorial as last time:

I selected PX4 as the platform and used the auto firmware upgrade to upgrade to the most recent firmware version which will tell you the board version, then used the advanced upgrade to select the older firmware file above and install that.
You connect to the board using the connect button at the top right and you should then be able to configure the airframe and radio. If it is greyed out you may not have connected to the Pixhawk after uploading the firmware.

I will make a screen recording and post to YouTube in the next couple of days when I set it up again and post it here if you are still having trouble with it
