Pixhawk install - 3DR Hexa b PDB wiring?

All,

My shiny new Pixhawk has arrived and I am trying to install it on my 3DR Hexa b. I have followed the directions and plugged everything in according to the Quick Start Guide. 3DR power control module is plugged into “power”, the buzzer is plugged into “buzzer”, the safety switch is plugged into “switch”, and the 3DR GPS/Mag combo is plugged into the “GPS” and “I2C” ports respectively.

However, I have a few questions.

  1. Where, on the Pixhawk, do I plug in the red and black two-pin power connection from the Hexa’s PCB?

  2. I am using a Spektrum DX9 radio with an AR8000 Rx. That said, I have physically removed the AR8000, its two-pin blk/red power cable, and the 5-pin data cable and plugged in the DSM-X satellite Rx into the “SPKT/DSM” port on the Pixhawk. The two receivers have been previously bound together. Is this correct?

Thanks!

Mike

Hi Mike,

  1. The red and black wires from the PDB (5V from an ESC) can be connected as backup power like this:

  2. Yes, that’s correct.
