Hi, I’ve picked up a project plane and have an issue getting transmitter input into the pixhawk 6x and Ardupilot. I have a satellite receiver (Spektrum SPM9745) which I’ve connected to the DSM port on the Pixhawk and bound via Mission Planner DSMX (nice steady binding light on Spektrum). However, I’m unable to see transmitter control inputs on the radio calibration page of Ardupilot and cannot calibrate this. This feels like a software issue, but i’m not certain.
Any words of wisdom would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Are you sure that RX will work? It’s been a long time since I used spektrum and I remember there were “a few” quirks to get it to play nicely with Ardupilot.
This chart says that RX doesn’t have a serial output. Do you have any other RX you can test with?
I have used that model with success in the past. It’s been a few years. I’m not sure I have any more advice on the topic other than that it should work on the DSM port.
I suspect a poorly configured model on the transmitter side at this point since it was bound via Mission Planner and appears to be showing 3 channels’ worth of data.
Thanks for your help on this, its much appreciated. So if I were to replace the Rx, is there anything you would particularly recommend. The Tx is Spektrum and id clearly have the option to RCIN a PPM Rx but wondered what you’ve found to be good in the past. Thank you.
The one you have should work just fine, and I suspect some user error as noted above. If you are set on using Spektrum and cannot get it to work, a receiver with SRXL2 output is a good alternative.
