First and foremost thank you for your help. I created this account out of desperation. I have visited these forms 100s of times to research things, and have only made it as far as I have due to reading others posts.
I am struggling and I feel like I am beating my head against the wall trying to diagnose what’s going on.
I am building a 2m wingspan VTOL plane. Hardware is as follows: 6s Lipo, Holybro Pixhawk 6x Mini, PM02D Power Module, Holybro Tekko
32 AM32 65A 4-1 ESC, 4 T-Motor 650 kv brushless motors. ELRS Receiver in Telem2. Radiomaster TX16s Transmitter. I am running Ardupulot 4.5.7.
The Pixhawk and ESC are connected via the cable Holybro sells which is intended specifically for that purpose. Unfortunately, there is no documentation to go with the cables and how to configure them properly. I changed the I/O port which I believe is serial 6 to ESC telemetry. I have the motors assigned to SERVO 9-12.
I believe I got everything setup to run Dshot600, but my motors are acting weird. Upon startup, all of the motors continuously beep until the safety switch is pressed. Then they stop beeping. Upon arming, only 1 motor runs, in manual mode, which can be controlled via the throttle. Swapping the motor cables results in whatever motor that is connected to the ESC Output that was working having power while the remaining motors stay off. Switching to, I believe it was qhover, does nothing until I pushed down and left on both sticks. This caused a second motor to beep. Upon releasing the sticks, the first motor continues to be controlled by the throttle. The second motor that beeped is now a 50% power and throttle is controlled by the right rc gimbal, which when pushed all the way to the left gives zero throttle and right throttles up. It is not affected at all by the left gimbal throttle. The remaining 2 motors do not spin.
Out of curiosity and trial and error, I tried connecting to the ESC using the other cable Holybro sells which is intended to be plugged into the I/o pvm rail rather than the I/o port directly. I connected my detachable pvm ports and hooked up the ESC to outputs 1-4 (believe it’s actually 9-12). This resulted in the same behavior as above. Out of curiosity I moved the plug over 1 spot. Moving the plug from pin to pin or flipping it upside down resulted in different motors turning, but still the same behavior as described above. 1 controlled by throttle, the other by the right gimbal.
I am at a loss here. Any help would be appreciated.
