Orange led

on my apm 2.5 board the orange led is flashing when I fly and when my quad is powered on and there is no telemetry module.
I think this is not normal.
what does this mean?

I believe that the orange led that you see flashing is the Tx led.

Indeed the orange led is the TX led. This means it flash when there is datatransfer to the
mission planner but
when I fly and there is no telemetry module I have no datatransfer!
Why does the led flash?

@hansb,
I suspect that the APM does not care if there is nothing hooked to either the USB or the telemetry connectors Tx line and continues to provide a serial output when you are flying.
