No sim_vehicle.py when setting up SITL

Hi Community!
I’ve recently been introduced to SITL recently and have following this
After all the package installations, when I go into th /ardupilot/ArduCopter/ director theres no sim_vehicle python file as the doc suggests. I did however find the file at /home/$USER/ardupilot/Tools/autotest/ after which I was able to get the simulator running.

I followed the instructions to point and have made sure that no one was left.

Wanted to know what the reason for this be. Any help is appreciated

Hi Suramrit,

I think you missed the Add some directories to your search path step, or something went wrong with it. That step puts the /home/$USER/ardupilot/Tools/autotest/ directory in your PATH so that you can directly type the sim_vehicle.py script.
