NanoRadar NRA24 not working via UART

Marc, anyone can propose changes/edit a wiki page using the web editor button for that page…I can fix any issues with format, etc. on the resulting PR created…

I would need @Rishabh (the original driver author) to verify any proposed changes also

its also best to raise these things as a wiki issue, since those are what I periodically review and try to get someone to resolve with content creation

thanks for informing of the issue

Gotcha. I will submit them!

Thanks, @Marc_Dornan!

Dear,
Thank your the valuable posts. I have a question. Is this also an issue when using CAN-Bus version?

I understand it is. You must be using the Open Source version with ArduPilot.

Thank you for fast response

Hello guys,

Does anyone know a way of flashing software when I can´t connect to the module? I can´t get the software version when connected via UART to the module, basically I can´t read nothing on the port.
So, because of not being able to read nothing and with input from the , I thought that I got a CAN version but now I can´t figure out a way of reading data from it, the Cube doesn´t read nothing and you need a special RadarCAN adapter, according to @Jenny_He.

Does someone have any suggestion on how to tackle this issue?

Please read through the thread. You almost certainly did not purchase the Open Source version. This is often not clear at all. You need to download the official configurator from NanoRadar and reflash to the Open Source CAN software which they will happily supply you. Did you get a CAN box dongle with your unit (it costs a little extra). I think you may need this to connect to the configurator and reflash it if you have the CAN version. If you supply the serial number to NanoRadar they will tell you what you have and what you need to to do to reflash and will even supply the firmware.

Hi, Marc! Could you please explain me following thing: I have NRA24 (marked as 1.0.3_U) It has serial (UART) interface, and I don’t like its work. Can I reflash it to CAN with your software? Will it be enough to have CAN-box (usb→can adapter) and your software, or “it depends”?

You probably have the non open source UART version. You cannot flash it to CAN. You need to flash it to the open source UART version. I would contact tech support (they are in this thread) via Whatsapp. They are very helpful. It is not hard but you have to be careful not to mess up the flash as it is one way. The open source version does not work with their drivers. Your first thing is to find out what version you have, connect their software and get a reading, and then reflash it.

Thank you for the explanation. Now the problem is solved: my colleague in parallel contacted Jenny_He, and now we have working version of UART firmware, no need of converting to CAN. Thank you & Jenny !!
