Motor 4 wont spin until on 20%

motor 4 wont spin until im on 20% (motor test) , and the same happen after arming , tried esc calibration and using difrrent motor and esc.

pixhawk 2.4.8
ardupilot (OFC)
motor: KV1000

esc: 40A

Reset the ardupilot parameters to their defaults and start over.

did that now and no difference , do you know maybe how can i make the others start from 20 %

or any other options?

With those ESCs, it is not surprising to see them turn on soo high.

Try using some other testing source, like arduino (with pulse value display). like this would work https://robu.in/product/digital-servo-tester-esc-consistency-tester/?gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=20381096599&gbraid=0AAAAADvLFWcpiWDqxIH14rVfS04qJMtI0&gclid=CjwKCAiAnoXNBhAZEiwAnItcGwVoK2EbqptA8_qUHo--9LpKdhzxE_ubHSR-PBIDBsBNoODhZZqEqhoCMLEQAvD_BwE

if it turns on only at 1200us, then its issue of esc

You should also consider replacing these motors, they have collet prop adapter, which give a lot of vibration - not good for flight.

Replace the defective ESC.

You have very low quality components.
Hardware to avoid

can you recommend a better motor and esc under like 80$ (for all of them)

The build from @RudrakshTek is coming along nicely. Read his posts to get his list of components.

Thanks @amilcarlucas sir.

@koren_yanko, For specifically motors/props/ESC, these are what I have used:

Ready to sky RS2212 920KV CW/CCW BLDC motors (no collet in them, the shaft is threaded and The rotors of these motors are balanced too.)

=>https://share.google/KvRU2uzRNPKpw7RoO

Speedybee 50A BLS 4 in 1 ESC (and then upgrade its firmware to Bluejay using ESC-configurator.)

=>https://share.google/6RFvaeDa0ztwEdk5H

I used Balanced Carbon Fibre 1045 props, BUT remember to check whether the Props you buy have a label of “DJI type” in them. Basically, that propeller’s hub’s hole diameter should be 8mm or more, otherwise they will not fit into the motor’s shaft!

Just FYI, I used Kakute H743 Wing FC which at first I found Very costly, but yes, now i understand That it has so much of capabilities to justify price.

@RudrakshTek post the AMC .zip file so that @koren_yanko can follow your footsteps.

Pixhawk 2.4.8?

Then You can use, But remember to connect the 4 in 1 ESC ‘s motor signal wires To the Pixhawk’s AUX 1-4 Pins (not the Main out 1-4), because the Pixhawk 2.4.8 comes with a seperate IOMCU co processor, which does Not support DShot protocols (only supports PWM), and then utilise the Bidirectional DShot (with DShot600) functionality of ESC, which will help in harmonic notch filter tuning later (after Bluejay is uploaded to ESC)

You can see in this image that I have connected it to Kakute by Soldering a cable, Which connects to ESC on one end, And the Kakute to other end.

@RudrakshTek you are learning well. You are asking the correct questions.

You can buy components for whole drone for 100$ on aliexpress, it will be modern enough end should fly well:
8$ mark4 7" frame
35$ f405 60a stack
30$ 2807 4 motors
2$ props 743
6$ camera
15$ VTX 5.8 800mv
4$ elrs 2.4 rx

Edit: did not know that AliExpress banned in India

Where are you buying from? Got anything else on That avoid list?

Think you need to read the Arducopter docs with that question as its very basic.

The quality of the rs2212 920kv varies widely.
If you can find some emax motors (there was a model for 935kv) prefer that if in budget.

Also these 2212 motors sometimes come with dji sticker, but they aren’t dji.

Yes you are right.

But in india, I can guarantee that only quality products will be delivered by flyrobo, robu, and zbotic.

So yes, if at other place, then prefer the one which satisfies. But just note that you are never using that collet type (I used those collet type A2212 1000KV too once and my drone was vibrating like a wave generator!)

Well with some smart brains, I decided to use 1400kv A2212 with 11 inch props. not only wave generator, it was heater too.

Well I have different opinions about Zbotic, they never delivered a SpeedyBee VTX I ordered.

Robu.in and Flyrobo deliver good stuff but sometimes it is better prefer the other; like robu.in sells the older m8n Se100 gps, but flyrobo sells the m10n version, for almost similar price.

The collet types were made for planes, that too early times, never for copters.

Another suggestions for prop is to use the self-locking 9450 ones; I use them and the motor never heats up and putting them is quite easy. but these come in two variants - one with metallic hub and other with plastic hub. The plastic hub gives a lot less vibration and doesn’t launch upwards when ESC brake is used (which almost all drones use).
