Matek F765 ardupilot installation - no response from FC after installtaion but works OK with iNAV

Would appreciate any help on installing arduplane 4.0.9 on Matek F765 wing. When I run the ardupilot 4.0.9 installation using STM32 as per the instructions, the programming completes OK. However the only LED showing on the board is the Red power LED and there is no connection from any ground controllers.

To check the F765 hardware I used iNAV Configuration and successfully installled iNAV 3.01. The flight controller responds properly in iNAV, enabling configuration etc.

So now I am unclear what else I should be doing to successfully install arduplane on the F765 so any suggestions on what to try next would be appreciated.

Many thanks.

Hi,
I’m having the very same problem with Matek F765WSE in Windows 11.
Tried installing 4.1.5, 4.2.0 and 4.3.0 using ST32Storm programmer.
Tried flashing using BetaFlight configurator.
Tried instructions from this page When Problems Arise — Copter documentation
Erased memory using button in ST32 programmer. Filled memory with zeroes flashing 2MByte_allzero.bin, then flashing BL MatekF765-SE_bl.hex and then .apj from MissionPlanner, but no change. After connecting to USB I can see ArduPilot(COM9) shoes up shortly in Device Manager, but disappears and the it turns to Unknown USB Device (0000&0002).

iNAV works just fine.
Please help!

Try using dfu-util to flash the bootloader from here:
Bootloaders
dfu-util
Then use Mission Planner to flash the firmware.

Dude, this was reeeealy unobvious way, but it worked.
Thanks for the clue!

And, by the way, I’ve made it on Windows WSL2))

Cool! There are/have been various was to flash these boards but bootloader 1st with dfu-util seems to always work. Betaflight Configurator, iNav Configurator, ST32 programmer. Those have all worked at some point in time… I believe the zeroes flashing is a thing of the past.
