Hey guys - I am using ardurover 4.5 with a pixhawk 4 and mission planner. For whatever reason, when I configure the transmitter (Flysky FS-i6x) the throttle setup is fine, but it requests that I arm the vehicle when the throttle is down and that does not give any option for reverse. Is there a simple setting for this? The throttle curve on the transmitter is the default one.
Other Specs:
Compass: M9N
Car body: Redcat Gen7 Crawler with default steering and esc.
Telemetry: Sik 915MHz 500mW
From a transmitter switch*. If setup, you can use one of the RC_xOPTION switches that includes the arm function. See switch option “153”, “154, or “160.*
You’re using an airplane Radio for controlling a car. The throttle stick should be in the middle (= neutral for car ESC’s) when arming, not all the way down. Perhaps this is the problem you’re having?
On my Radiomaster TX16 i made a throttle mix especially for this. Throttle stick Down > up is neutral > forward, when i switch the SA-switch, the throttle stick becomes Neutral > Reverse.
FWIW you would want weight +50% and Offset 50% for the forward switch position and weight -50% and Offset -50% for reverse. Or whatever the equivalent is in that radio. Make sure you re-run the Radio calibration if you succeed.
For anyone else looking for help, the value of RC3_TRIM appears to keep resetting itself every time I recalibrate the radio, to values from 1000 - 1400 PWM. It should be at either 1500 (where the stick controls forward and backwards and neutral throttle is in the middle) or at 1000 (where neutral throttle is at the bottom).
