Making a 20inch drone, are these components reliable?

Hi,

I am looking into building a 20-inch quadcopter using T-Motor MN601S motors, T-Motor Alpha 60A 12S ESCs, a Matek H743-SLIM V4 flight controller, and a Matek FCHUB PDB.

I have a few questions regarding whether all of these components will work properly together.

From what I have found, the Alpha 60A ESC communicates with the flight controller using PWM, which means it does not support bidirectional DShot, BLHeli, or AM32. As a result, I assume I would not be able to use RPM-based filtering or dynamic harmonic notch filtering.

What does this mean for my build in practice? Would you recommend using a different ESC that supports bidirectional DShot and RPM telemetry, or is the Alpha 60A still a suitable choice for a 20-inch quadcopter focused on efficiency and stable flight?

Thanks in advance.

I would probably go with these if you can find them.
TBS Lucid 12S AM32 ESC
The Matek board is a good choice, the TBS Lucid H7 is another. I have used the the TBS board in newer builds.

As i understand TBS Lucid is AM32 but my PDB only has BlHeli outputs, i am looking imto FlyColor X-Cross HV3 Pro. Or should i try to make AM32 work ?

That doesn’t make any sense.

So its supported ? Please explain this to me, i seam stuck at this point.

At this point I would strongly recommend you start with a smaller build in 3" maybe 5" class and learn about Ardupilot, ESCs and other required components on something that is less likely to cause life altering injuries.

I already built a 5 inch and 7 inch, where i bought a stack and it works, but now i want to carry a big camera. So 20 inch is necessery.

Ok, so read on AM32 capabilities, what protocols it can use.

Supported by what?

Never mind, figured out how Dshot works, it was error in my understanding how fc and each seperate esc comunicates. All good now
