Live calibration, off center

Has anyone ever seen this? There’s sphere starts to form as usual but does so of center, in the back left corner of the screen, therefore the white dots are never hit and never completes…

This indicates a magnetic item near the compass. You can usually accept and get a calibration anyway, and it may even work OK if the magnetic field is stable, but it usually indicates a problem.

I actually had this occur due to some steel screws under my Pixhawk. I use a magnetic screwdriver and it magnetized those screws on installation, and I got the problem you describe when calibrating the internal compass. I switched to stainless screws and the problem went away. In short, the magnetic item doesn’t need to be strong if it’s sufficiently close to the compass.
