Letting go off the sticks and allow the drone to postion hold and brake

Is there a way to make the drone basically brake and hold its position after letting go off the sticks in mission planner? I need to to precisely land on a landing pad with a camera and if I go forward the drone still has momentum and I don’t want to push back on the sticks since even the safest push back will result it drifting the other way since this isn’t a good dji drone but a student made drone. It has pixhawk and gps.

Not a MissionPlanner function - but a function of the flight modes.

Use Loiter flight mode - which can be set independently of which ground station software you use.

These are the suggested flight modes to get comfortable with: Stabilise, AltHold, Loiter.

Ok that makes sense but can I move the drone in lotier like pos hold?

Loiter is updated and preferred over PosHold and has a few extra parameters to control it’s behaviour.

AltHold and PosHold are basically Stabilise with an extra feature each. Loiter is on another level.
