Lesson learnt

So I decided to do another test of my lotus t600g with the apm .5 in today, i sat in my home, powered it up, checked it ect made sure everything was good, connected mission planner via the mavlink radio, great, so outside i went out to the field area near my apartment.

up goes the copter, about 20 ft p, not too bad, then a gust of wind comes and it starts swaying, so i hit the rtl switch… OH SHIT…

yeah, i FORGOT to tell it the NEW home position, off it goes very quickly home… yes, MY HOME , my ACTUAL home. its aim was very precise , see I live on the 3td floor and it made a beeline right fro it, towards the screened in patio… SMASH, right into the screen , I have to give it props though it managed to get nearly all the way though the screen and onto the patio before it gave up.

so now i have to replace most of the copter and the screen on the patio…

Lesson learnt, ALWAYS set the home position

Number one rule of the Internet: Pictures, or it didn’t happen…

Home is set at the current GPS position when you arm. More like it hadn’t got a quality lock. What version of FW are you running?
