Large x8 tip over on take off

Now I thinking could the propellers have mounted upside down?

@Todd_prince
Why not upload some photos of the motor mounting?

I have taken the props off waiting for more to come in to replace the broken ones. But I will as soon as I get them in.

I havent seen folding props giving issues like causing a tip over.

Yeah I wouldn’t think so. Do you know of any problems with folding propellers 22 inch being a issue with x8 coaxial setup? It’s just props upside-down on the bottom. Take propeller apart and flip the 2 halves and put it back together and mount it. Opposite of the top of course. Top front faces out bottom from faces inward and back top faces inward and back bottom faces outward with the writing on the propellers facing the sky.

I got TMotor MF2211 on the way. Be here in about 5 days.

Ok my props could be here today possibly tomorrow or day after. Anything you think of I need to check to make sure I have a low probability of it tipping over backwards on take off? I have checked the motor spin sequence and direction 2 more times today. I’m going to post a video of the motor test today. And all parameter logs. As well as a pictures of the set-up. And before I fly after all that I will install the propellers and post a picture of that. And see what you think. Thanks again for your help brother

I cant think of anything else not already discussed - the true test is motor test and click on “All in sequence”

Will do that tonight and I’ll post a link to the video of that. Meant to last night but I may or may not of fell asleep lol

I usually stick a piece of masking tape at the side of the motor in an orientation I expect the direction motor to spin + at lowest percent (configure for spin arm at the same time). I also can place my finger to feel the direction if lowest still not very visible.
For example

The bottom props do not flip or rotate 180 degrees but are inline to the top side . Just the direction of rotation will change if this makes sense.

I have built many X8s. The motor spin is fine and sequence is fine. And I have folding propellers so you have to flip them

They were spinning at lowest possible

I made a few as well including Y6. Okay your up and running then well done.

Without photo, I am not able to visualize, not sure how many users can. So, for the bottom plane of motors (i.e. 5,6,7,8), if they spin with propeller mounted, air flow is from ground to sky or sky to ground?

I think the motor order/direction has been sufficiently flogged here.

Put the new props on and attempt a takeoff.

Thank you and motor spin correction was correct and the sequence was correct the problem was the propellers they were crap. I got TMotor mf2211 and everything is fine. If I was like a dream. I appreciate everybody’s help but to be honest if I would have heard one more person mention motor spend direction I was going to lose my mind. Lol

Some of us might lose our minds if we see one more instance of “I swear I double checked motor order and direction” only to find that it was the culprit the whole time

It’s the dead horse that can’t get dead enough.

Did you check the motor order and spin direction?
Just kidding.
Proper props are a must if you build something large. Smaller builds can get by on crappy aftermarket ones, but even there you pay the price with more vibration and less efficiency.

After autotune of yaw no problems I attempted pitch/roll today and she went crazy with violent pitching. The more it did it the worse it got. Here are the logs see what you can find.

 well this one is mine.
