Is this Yaw imbalance?

This isn’t a yaw imbalance right? It

s just the battery and gimbal weight.

What’s the FRAME_TYPE?

It is a Quad X

The axis are not symmetrical. And I know my i is low. Thats what im tuning next.

Then this is all you need to look at.

Are the outputs (Motorx) in CW and CCW pairs?

Motors 3&4. So it has a imbalance. I wasnt sure

My motors match the diagram.

It has a Yaw imbalance. The CW motors 3&4 are commanded higher then the CCW Motors 1&2.

Any suggestins how to level a motor mount on a carbon tube? I guess my phone level app isnt working out.

On craft where the prop tip to tip distance is relatively short, and they are not folding props, you can check it that way. Or, @Allister has a cool 3D printed fixture that can be used if you have a printer. Motor Trammel Tool

Ill print that out.

Motor 2 was 1.1° off center. I used a real digital level

Spanning pairs of motors with a straight edge you measures that? Using the printed fixture you just want to adjust it so there is no tilt shown under the straight edge.

I used a digital level to mount them all relative to the FC/frame level. But im printing out the tool. To check it again against that

That can work if the frame is indeed level. If after doing the best you can you still have the imbalance swap the props around and see what happens. It might just be the folding props contributing to it.

What’s important is that the motors are level relative to each other, not to an absolute. If you’re using a digital level then make sure you’re looking at the difference for each motor, not zero.

Ok. I printed out the tool.four pieces. I had to scale them up 156% to fit the 8mm center piece. I have a 1m straight edge coming tomorrow. Hopefully this will get it all level

Off topic but after pid tuning setting ATC_THR_MIX_MAX .9 is ok with. 22”? i won ever fly this quad in acro if that matters. Still confused what that does

Did a little adjustment by eye. Until my long straight edge is delivered

That’s looking better. It’s suggesting you might have a C of G imbalance but once you get the motors set you’ll know for sure.
