Is it possible to autonomously switch flight modes?

I am working on a towed glider. I would like it to tow in stability mode, but I also would like it to switch to manual when ground speed =0. I’d like to be able to do this without outside input. It’s a very specific use case, but I would like to reduce battery life it it lands in a position other than level. Thoughts?

You could accomplish that with a short LUA script.

OTOH, discovering whether you’re flying isn’t trivial (we wouldn’t trust
ground-speed being zero to be a fair indication of whether you’re
flying… Your use case might allow for it, of course.
