I’m a ‘noobie’ in these here parts so please forgive me if I’m posting in the wrong area.
I’ve been flying & crashing my IRIS since april and I just completed the upgrade to IRIS+…now what to do with the leftovers?? I hate to see anything go to waste.
So I got to thinking (always a dangerous thing!) I work at a small 4 year regional college in the mountains of western Maryland…I teach conservation of Natural Resources, GIS, and biogeography. I would like to conduct a seminar in alternative mapping platforms (kites, balloons, planes, multirotors). I thought I’d like to get the students to design/build their own kites/picovets and quads…therein this post.
I thought I would use my IRIS leftovers (motors, props, ESC’s (4-1 board), etc) and add to it a quad frame, a pixhawk, and a receiver as a class project demo then let them have their turn. Of course I would NEVER dream of having them actually fly their crafts given our insightful FAA rules in the US (oh, heaven forbid! Yea…right).
So…if anybody was wondering what to do with their IRIS upgrade leftovers I would be willing to pay a reasonable amount for your parts…assuming they are all still functional! I figure I’m looking for maybe 3 folks to help out. I’m no electronics wizard…so I’m probably biting off more than I can chew…just trying to keep my students current in a rapidly changing world. But I would have loved to have had a class like that back when I was a student…last century
