Today, I came across a video of a boy on news channel, he created a MAV! Manned Aerial Vehicle at home! He was nearly my age (in 11th class) and he created a human lifting drone which did not look stylish or awesome, it was made out of plastic, steel aluminium rods, and some agricultural drone motors, and looked like a taxi without roof top. It was single seater, and it was made under budget 3,50,000 INR, i.e., 4110$ . Its flight time was 6 min , and it could lift a man of 80 KG mass.
Really, If we just purchase the right frame, and right motors, creating MAV should be just like creating UAV?! And if we purchase an even big lipo battery, we can get 25 min flight time even in MAV? We can add parachute systems in it as shown in kaga developer meeting!! Really, flying our made drone gives another level of satisfaction, but sitting in our drone and flying to an height of 30-100m is just another thing!!
@amilcarlucas , @rmackay9 , @Yuri_Rage , haven’t you created a manned Aerial Vehicle yet? Putting all your expertise in it and creating a safe flying vehicle!! Using ardupilot!!

If this can be done on earth, I will really like to make such a MAV when I grow up and become a developer like you. Changing the battery with a fuel powered system will give more flight time. Adding an inbuilt ACS (Air Control Station) display in it will be fantastic idea, which will display the maps, Telemetry data just there in front of the person. Giving two giant joy sticks infront of the person with the display in middle. All Mission planner and ardupilot based. So fantastic work.
