Impossible to use standard TAKEOFF in a mission for a QPlane?

I have more than one vtol q-planes.

Lots of times in the field, I can take off on VTOL_TAKEOFF, however I prefer to just do a normal hand launch using TAKEOFF. Some reasons for it are it will take less energy, less complicated and faster. I think it’s a reasonable expectation that even a VTOL plane is not disqualified to do a normal fixed wing hand launch?

It seems impossible to me to accomplish this with current plane software 4.5.0.

Maybe I miss some configuration setting to do this?

Everytime I switch to Auto mode - the motors turn in to an upright vertical position.

Any thoughts?

For anyone asking for a log file, I Think it’s not so helpful in this case.
Please try to do set it up yourself, for a quad plane, just do a mission that uses one line, TAKEOFF. See what’s happening. Will it go vtol or normal launch?

Let me add a short BIN Log
Maybe it helps

I assume you switch to Auto mode before the hand launch.
If so, how should the FC know that you will try a hand launch. The plane has not enough horizontal speed to fly. Maybe you have first to start in a manual mode.

Simply because in the Mission it only has one line TAKEOFF, 15 degrees and 40 m hight.
That is all that is needed for a non vtol.
You understand and agree to that?

Unfortunately, the small log bin file is still too large to update directly.
Let me work on a solution.
Thank you for answer Jörgen!

Yes, this setting might be fine for a (normal) plane, but your system is knowing that it is a VTOL. But I don’t have right now no plane, so are there different paramter for TAKEOFF and VTOL_TAKEOFF?

Have you tried setting bit 1 in Q_OPTIONS?

Bit 1:

Allow FW Takeoff-if bit is not set then NAV_TAKEOFF command on quadplanes will instead perform a NAV_VTOL takeoff

Have you tried starting TAKEOFF in FBWA mode by
using the Tx switch (RCx_Option 77) ?
