Hybrid VTOL w/ Persistent Multirotor Thrust

Wondering if anyone has every built/worked with a design such as: Pelican 2.0 | Long-Range Delivery Drone | A2Z Drone Delivery

Basically a conventional quadplane setup - but the mutirotor motors always stay on to produce lift (since the wing isn’t big enough).

I am thinking with the bit in Q_OPTIONS that forces Qassist-on-always this would theoretically be possible with ArduCopter. Interested to hear if others have any thoughts on if this could be functional with ArduPlane (maybe these folks already use ArduPlane) and the correct param settings - or some custom firmware/GNC would be required.
