How to setup an APM with a gliderplane without Airlerons

Hello,

Perhaps a stupid question but I hope to build in my APM2.6 in a motorized glider.
This plane has only 3 controls:
Rudder (Now on channel 1)
Evelons (Now on channel 2)
Throttle (Now on channel 3)

When I read the documentation I can’t find this setup.

How can I safely setup the APM ?

Many thanks in advance Maarten

@Maarten_pa0mhe,
Did you look here: http://plane.ardupilot.com/wiki/reversing-servos-and-setting-normalelevon-mode/

Dear TCIII,

Thanks for your reaction.

Indeed I looked first in: plane.ardupilot.com/wiki/reversi … evon-mode/
However as far as I can see the APM expects a 4 channel (airleron, elevator, throttle, rudder) approach for “normal (non-elevon)” planes. I don’t see planes w/o airleron with “only” a rudder to control heading.

So my question is: can the APM control my plane and how to setup ?
I want to avoid an instant crash when switching to APM-control.

I made a mistake in my initial question, but this is my normal setup:
Rudder (channel 1)
Elevator (channel 2)
Throttle (channel 3)
So no airlerons and consequently no elelvon or V tail

Thanks Maarten

This parameter is key

We have pilots flying with rudder only planes so it is possible.
Thanks, Grant.
