How does emlid reach work

I have read the integration document of EmLID Reach in detail. In my view, its working principle is that the flight control separates the RTCM information injected in the MAVlink, infuses it into the module through serial port 4, and then sends the modified NMEA information back to the flight control through serial port 5, thus realizing RTK. I’m not sure if this is correct, but right now, I have an RTK module from a manufacturer in China, which also has two serial ports like EmLID Reach, one of which can pass in RTCM information and the other output modified NMEA information. I’m not sure I can use it that way. I hope someone can solve my doubts.
