High Vibrations but Low Clip on Loiter Flight

Hi everyone,
I’ve noticed something unusual in my drone logs. The drone flies very stable and precise with no visible or audible vibrations, but the logs show high IMU vibrations while the clip values remain low.

Is it normal to see high vibrations but low clip with stable performance? Should I be concerned, or could this be an artifact of my setup (e.g., mounting or resonance)?

I’d appreciate any insights or suggestions. Logs available if needed.

Thanks!

They are needed. If you post a link to more than 1 describe what they are.

Here:

A few observations here. The vibration levels are way too high and need to be addressed. You don’t want to see any clipping.
Generally you want the rate Pitch/Roll P&I parameters to be equal. The Tune isn’t bad actually considering but it could be better.
With the hover throttle you have (~.12) you will want to lower the Acceleration Z P&I gains accordingly.
You are configured for Dshot but have not set all the parameters required and you should have ESC telemetry to drive the Notch filter you haven’t configured. Best to use Bdshot by 1st flashing that firmware to the flight controller.

I could have only replied with “reset to default and use the Methodic Configurator” but since you did some manual tuning thought I would add some comments.

Thank you, Dave!

I really appreciate the detailed feedback and the time you took to explain everything. I’ll definitely work on addressing the vibration issues and fine-tuning the setup.

I’m currently using the f405 esc mini from speedybee which not support ESC telemetry.

Thanks again for your support!

It will if you flash Bluejay firmware to it. This is the best option given a BLHeli_S ESC and will allow Bdshot which provides RPM data at a desirable rate.
