HERE2 not sending GPS to Orange cube

I know the Here2 is older, I bought in in the Summer of 2020, but I was away from the hobby for a while. So…

I have a Cube Orange with the ADS-B carrier board, and a Here2 GPS. The Here2 had the CAN cable preinstalled, according to the card I received in the box. I verified that the switch was indeed set to CAN on the GPS. I freshly installed Arduplane 4.5.6, and the following parameters are set:
CAN_P1_DRIVER = 1
GPS_TYPE = 9
NTF_LED_TYPES = (UAVCAN is checked)

I also installed the latest Mission Planner, 1.3.82

Mission Planner connects to the Cube, and I can see Attitude movement and Heading changes, however the HUD says “NO GPS” . What setting have i missed?

Thanks!
Rusty

Try set BRD_BOOT_DELAY to 5000 or 8000, to allow startup of the GPS.

Enable both ports and change port CAN1-CAN2

Forget to mention , BRD_BOOT_DELAY was set to 7000.

Hmm, I pulled out a Here2 from the drawer and tested it with a Cube Orange,
It works with the settings you described above.
So it is either a cable problem or your Here2 is toast. (it is worth to try change ports to rule out bad port on the Cube)
Does it flash blue at startup ?

(My Here2 is an oldest 2.0 version)

Hi Eosbandi, I wonder how I can see the table you showed above.

Mission Planner, Setup, DroneCAN…

Ok, So with a little internet searching I found the answer, so I will post it here.

It came down to the firmware in the Here2 was outdated.

Check this video for the example. I followed the video to a ‘Tee’ and the GPS started working, BRD_BOOT_DELAY = 0, and it still works,

OK, I did not think about it, since the 1.5 version that I tested is almost five year old :slight_smile:

Yeah, the Orange Cube was bought in 2020, I think the Here2 some time before that. It was on version 1.3. After the update it went to 1.7 and all works like it should!!
