Flying with Gimbal without GoPro?

Total Noob question… I want to install my Tarot but don’t want always fly with the gopro.

Is it better just to leave the gimbal on or take it on and off ?? I know the weight will lower flight time but I am wondering if flying without the camera would cause balance issues.

Thanks
Lou

Noob as well but I would definitely recommend at minimum unplugging the gimbal power when you do not have the gopro in as when it is plugged in the gimbal is expecting to have the camera weight and cant seem to compensate.

As for balance in entirety I am not sure. But taking it on or off shouldn’t take more than 5 minutes. Especially if you pick up some allen screwdrivers.

The wires are so small and tight to get on the board… Probably just always fly with it.

Maybe you can add jumper wires male/female to the gimbal, for easy connection/disconnection

I would recommend to remove the gimbal (and not forget to apply the parameters for not having the gimbal attached). Your iris will be lighter hence more flying time.

+1 Not to mention that if there is a crash, you have one less item to maybe have to fix or replace. But be sure to change the parameter settings…only takes a second.
