Hello, I recently started to build my first drone i got the speedybee f405 v4 and thought of buying Flysky ct6b transmitter and fs-r6b reciever. I realised that it’s not gonna connect so i bought the ppm encoder but no luck it’s not working.
only connected encoder to flight controller so no motors or anything is connected
Running Ardupilot latest stable firmware
Didn’t do any calibration just checked if the throttle is responding or not.
How am i gonna solve this problem? does anyone have idea about this?
I had that radio around 10 years ago, its not going to work with ardupilot, you dont have any 3-position switches, just 2x 2-position and thats not enough.
I don’t believe that the flight controller supports PPM with ardupilot or Inav, it only works on betaflight because they can do pin remapping.
I would suggest you get another radio, the radiomaster pocket is the best budget one going just now. if you get the ELRS version you can get supported long-range receivers with telemetry for a few dollars.
I tried with different firmware including beta flight as well but still it’s not working so I’m planning to get elrs soon but I am not sure which one to get but the pocket radio is good I heard but not sure which receiver I should get? will be there any compatibility issue I’ll face in future?
As said by the others, it is better to use more modern RC System.
But in principle also the old system must work.
So if not you did something wrong or some component is defect.
So out of your description is not seen how you connected your receiver via which ppm encoder to the FC and what are your settings of the FC.
I’ve connect my encoder to this r2 pin and this is the pixhawk ppm encoder. I didn’t do any changes in FC like I just flashed the firmware arducopter and tried to check if it receives any signal or no.
as i said the ppm encoder wont work. ppm is not supported on that controller with anything other than betaflight due to it using pin remapping. betaflight remaps a different pin to the R2 pad to make it work.
i have opened an issue to get the image in the ardupilot documentation changed as its just been copied from matek.
