I am reviewing this log of a crash, I want a different perspective and others to also share what they see and think about the crash.
Community kindly spare a few minutes let me know what you think.
Old firmware so I’ve moved this to the correct section.
It’s difficult to help out a lot with no context or information, even about the plane itself.
First thing I see is a plane that lost 80m of height just trying to transition from hover to forward fight. Looks like Q-assist was able to catch it. Lots of potential reasons. Mechanical failure, incorrect center of gravity.
I see that the i-terms for both Pitch and roll in fixed-wing flight were flat-lined, so incorrect trim or center of gravity could be an issue.
The plane went into an uncommaned roll, and then dive. Q-assist wasn’t able to save it. There’s no current monitoring but the voltage drop (or lack of it) suggests that maybe all the motors weren’t reacting as expected. Anyhow, that’s when the planet got in the way.
You can also see where the ailerons and V-tail were struggling to maintain control.
Appreciate the detailed breakdown this is very helpful.
You’re spot on about the lack of context;
The aircraft is a quadplane VTOL with a V-tail configuration.
wingspan 3.2m MTOW: ~23 kg
- Payload capacity: ~5 kg recommended
- Endurance: up to ~2.5 hours
- Cruise speed: ~78–90 km/h
- Max speed: ~100 km/h
Is there any chance the battery or payload came loose and moved inside the airframe?
