Firmware upgrade issues

Hello,

I am trying to upgrade my boards to the latest firmware from 1.3.79 Mission Planner.

Board 1 - Pixhawk 2.4.8 (want to upgrade it to 4.3.3). The board connects with the mission planner and shows all settings. However, when I disconnect and try to upgrade the firmware, it shows a “Failed Download” error. I tried it on different laptops, but this remains the same.

Board 2 - Cube Orange (airbot mini board). The board connects with the mission planner and shows all the settings. When I click to upgrade the firmware, it shows “Failed to detect port to upload to”.

This is happening after upgrading the mission planner to 1.3.79.
Kindly help and resolve the issue.

Thank You.

Try something different, with QGC.

Pixhawk 2.4.8 worked with QGC.

Cube Orange, Nope. Showing the below error.

BTW, Thanks for your help.

I am not familiar with Cube’s, but I many times see similar errors even with QGC. I suppose it is because some supply error (may be supplying at the time other parts) so I connect battery and can get on (even it is said not to do it this way, there should be diodes-like inside to choose the highest supply).

When flashing, disconnecting parts help, trying to have only connected that part with the microprocessor. Also, having everything connected, a reset button.

Actually, I did not get what you said in the last para.

While connected with the MAVLINK, it asks for a bootloader update under the firmware option. There are a few discussions that recommended not updating the bootloader as it can brick the board whereas some suggested doing. Any opinion on that part?

Thank you

I think I have flashed a few bootloaders, but I don’t remember if with MP|QGC or with ST tools; with ST tools nothing can go wrong.

If flashing through USB disconnect parts (sensors, GPS…) so as not having to supply other things.

A reset button is available in Pixhawk1’s. I remember connection errors disappearing resetting.
