FETtec One Wire: PreArm: FETtec: 4 of 4 ESCs are not running

Hi

I try to run a FETtec 4in1 65A ESC with the OneWire protocol on a CUAV Nora flightcontroller. But without success so far… I get right at the start the message: FETtec: 4 of 4 ESCs are not running. But I din’t arm the motors and also didn’t touch the safty button…

I also try another serial port. It also doesn’t help… I’m using right now the serial4 (UART4 on the Nora). Telemetry from the esc goes to the RX on the UART4.

Parameters are set up for a quad according to this guide: FETtec OneWire ESCs — Copter documentation

Is there something important that I probably miss?

Many thanks in advance

Michael

I think it should really be called two-wire.

  • Connect the TLM telemetry output from the ESC to the serial RX of your flight-controller.
  • The serial TX from the flight-controller must be connected to every signal-input ( signal-pins S1, S2, S3, S4 ) of the 4in1 ESC

Thanks for the hint. Now it works! I was too much focussed on the Onewire naming and read over this part of the guide. Two-wire makes more sense when using the FETtec ESC with Arducopter.

Anyway, thanks a lot!

So I guess, technically, you could use just one wire for the signal to drive the motors, and you only need the second wire for telemetry data.
