FC tries to config GPS constantly when trying to arm in Loiter Mode

I have got two issues with ublox GPS yesterday with 4.6beta4
First, GPS can wait for a fix forever …

The other was a problem with set_home, what was not set on arm but much earlier, like on first fix or even at a boot.

Do you think this fix can solve those issues?
I have to rebuild the firmware for this fix because I need some old stuff to be built-in.

There is definitely a problem with the M10S @tridge . I had a plane that was struggling to get satellites on its M10S on master, so I replaced it with a brand new one out of the box. After booting on master I waited 2 hours and got no (zero) satellites, then I flashed 4.5.7 and it immediately came up with 11 satellites.

Thanks for the report, I’ve put it back on the issues list but I worry we won’t make any progress unless we have a way to reproduce the problem. Maybe we need to purchase some M10s from the exact same supplier.

Could you use ucenter to download the configuration in the working and non-working case?

I wonder if it was the firmware change back to 4.5.7 or because the GPS was rebooted

I rebooted a couple of times after putting the new GPS on, but unfortunately I now don’t have a “non-working” case, because this GPS has now been booted with 4.5.7 and it works. It seems that it will keep working after putting 4.6 or higher on once it is already working.

Thanks. So it definitely sounds like a difference in the configuration code between 4.5 and 4.6 which is completely believable.

I think AP should pay for perhaps 3 to 5 more of these GPSs so we can get to the bottom of it. Do you have a link?

I’ll follow up. BTW I’m not sure if it’s relevant but these are all CAN M10S GPS’s I’m using.

How did you enable the output of the gps log files to the sd card? That would have come in very very handy
