External Barometers

Hi

My multirotor installation has issues with negative pressures inside the housing that contains the Cube Orange with Here 4 GPS. As such I’m forced to use an external barometer, the MS5611-01BA03 Atmospheric Pressure Sensor Module.

My question is, can I use 2 external barometers to obtain better reliability with EKF altitude estimation? I know I can connect 2 external Baro’s to the CubePilot I2C Splitter board. How do I configure the 2 external Baro’s for use with ArduCopter?

thanks

Not sure about the second baro, but have you considered doing the Barometer Position Error Compensation? It’s there for just such problems.

There’s also this for external baros. Barometer (external) — Copter documentation

Yes can do that. Was hoping having multiple sensors in EKF might eliminate any noise error position variances.

There are many of us here using the Cube Orange with only the internal baro. The compensation may do more to clear up noise and errors than simply adding a second baro.
