I’m facing an issue with my drone running ArduCopter on a Pixhawk 6X Mini flight controller. During flight, the drone occasionally falls abruptly, as if it has lost all motor power, and then I observe the ESC restarting. I’m using a JHEMCU RuiBet 55A BLHELI_S DShot600 3-6S 4in1 ESC. Here are some details that might help diagnose the issue:
Flight Conditions: Usually low-altitude hovering.
Power Setup: The power setup seems stable, but I’m wondering if this might be a power-related problem, either due to a voltage drop or a current spike affecting the ESC.
Wiring and Connections: I’ve double-checked the wiring and connections to the ESC and FC, and they seem secure.
I’m attaching a link to the log file here for further analysis.
I’m curious if anyone has encountered a similar issue or has insights on what might be causing this issue.
The flight controller continued to command the ESCs, but I’d say because the voltage went back up that the power connection between the power block (voltage monitoring) and the ESC failed. I’d focus first on the power wires, solder joints, connections, etc.
Thank you for the suggestion, I’m checking again the connections to see if something is off.
Yesterday we made a few tests and managed to recreate the problem consistently: The drone flies in Loiter at ~0.5m and after about 4 minutes, the ESC reboots mid air and the motor stops. Perhaps it’s an overheating issue?
Hard for me to say from here, but from what you say over heating sounds like a possible problem. Either way, it’s not a problem with the firmware or the flight controller.
